Toronto – May 5, 2025
Today, the Board of Directors of the Afghan Paiwastoon Community held a productive coordination meeting with Mr. Ahmad, Director of the Thorncliffe Neighbourhood Office (TNO)—a prominent organization known for its comprehensive support services to refugees across Toronto.

The meeting provided an important platform for both parties to:

• Exchange insights and experiences
• Discuss the pressing needs of refugees, particularly newly arrived Afghans
• Explore solutions to address ongoing challenges

Held in a spirit of openness and mutual respect, the discussion highlighted the importance of collaborative efforts to better serve refugee communities. Both organizations reaffirmed their commitment to continued coordination and agreed to host similar meetings in the future to strengthen cooperation.

This initiative marks another positive step in building a more unified and responsive support network for Afghan refugees in Toronto.
