The Afghan Paiwastoon Community, in collaboration with four partner organizations, proudly celebrated Afghanistan’s 106th Independence Day in a grand ceremony held in Toronto, Canada.
The evening commenced with a recitation from the Holy Quran, followed by prayers dedicated to the souls of Afghanistan’s independence heroes and the late leaders of the community, Engineer Sultan Jan Kaliwal and Haji Fahimullah Akhundzada.
Distinguished speakers then addressed the audience, reflecting on the historic struggle led by Ghazi Amanullah Khan, the significance of Afghanistan’s independence, the current challenges facing the nation, and the vital importance of unity and consensus among Afghans worldwide.
Following the speeches, guests were treated to dinner, after which Afghan youth brought vibrancy to the celebration with traditional dances and stirring performances of national and epic songs, enriching the spirit of the evening.
